Search forms send the name, telephone number, or address you enter to the outside provider that supplies the results. Our servers do not retain a copy of those searches. When you contact us, we receive the details you choose to send and use them to answer your message.
Information Collected Automatically
Our hosting systems create ordinary server logs, which can include an IP address, browser type, pages viewed, and time stamps. We review this information in combined form to maintain the site and learn which resources visitors use. Cookies or comparable tools may support basic analytics and, when applicable, measurement of advertising.
How We Use Information
The information described above helps us run Ventura County People Search, correct technical faults, measure visits, and refine content. We do not sell visitor lists or create profiles about individual users.
Links to Other Websites
Links may lead to Ventura County and California government portals, records offices, libraries, or outside search services. The privacy policy of each destination controls information submitted there. Our policy does not govern it. This distinction also applies to sponsored search results, which an outside company provides.
Parties That May Receive Data
Vendors that host or support the site process server logs for us. Analytics and advertising services may receive the automatic information already described. We may disclose data in response to valid legal process, but otherwise do not share visitor information.
How We Safeguard Data
Ventura County People Search uses an encrypted connection. Server logs are kept only for as long as the stated purposes require. Since the site has no user accounts, it holds no visitor password or account profile that could be exposed here.
Users Under 18
The site is intended for adults and is not directed to children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone younger than 18. Contact us if you believe a minor sent personal data, and we will remove it.
Your California Privacy Rights
California residents may have rights to know, correct, or delete covered personal information under the California Consumer Privacy Act and California Privacy Rights Act framework. The Delete Act, Civil Code section 1798.99.86, creates a separate deletion mechanism for registered data brokers on its statutory schedule. Ventura County People Search is not the custodian of those brokers' databases.
Because we hold very little visitor data, a request generally involves checking our contact mailbox and server logs, then deleting responsive information when required. Use the Contact page to submit one. Government records held by Ventura County or California agencies fall outside our control. Access to non-exempt government records is governed by the California Public Records Act, Government Code section 7920.000 et seq., while removal, sealing, or correction requests must go to the office that keeps the record.
